    Record €155m Paid to Private Hospitals to Cut Waits

    New figures show for-profit private hospitals received a record €155 million in public funds last year to reduce public waiting lists, according to the National Treatment Purchase Fund. The amount is seven times higher than in 2020. Payments covered treatment in private hospitals across the country and in the North, reflecting use of private capacity for public patients.
