    Study: Geoengineering insufficient to protect coffee, cacao, wine

    A study in Environmental Research Letters finds that stratospheric sulfate aerosol injection, a proposed geoengineering method to cool the planet, would not reliably safeguard conditions for wine grapes, coffee and cacao. Modeling for 2036–2045 across 18 regions in western Europe, South America and West Africa shows only six with consistent improvement, as rainfall, humidity and disease risks offset temperature reductions.
