    Met Éireann said Storm Amy produced Ireland’s highest October 10‑minute mean wind speed in 65 years, 111 km/h at Malin Head on 3 October; the month’s top gust was 148 km/h. October saw above‑average temperatures and rainfall; the national mean was 11.61°C, 24th warmest in 126 years. Sunshine was low, with record October lows at Malin Head and Casement Aerodrome.
