    UK urges progress in Jagtar Singh Johal case

    Downing Street said faster progress is needed in the case of British national Jagtar Singh Johal, detained since November 2017. Johal was acquitted this year in a Punjab case but still faces federal charges. The UK says resolution must include an investigation into his torture allegations. A UN panel recognised his imprisonment as arbitrary detention in 2022.
