    Man Jailed for Animal Cruelty at Dublin Protest Site

    Dublin Circuit Criminal Court jailed a former IT worker for 20 months for two acts of animal cruelty linked to protests against asylum seeker housing at Thornton Hall, north Dublin. In June 2024, security guards found two pigs with stab and slash wounds. The 160-acre site, previously earmarked for a super prison, is planned as accommodation for international protection applicants.
