Firefighters in Rome rescued a worker trapped for hours after the medieval Torre dei Conti partially collapsed during renovation. The man was conscious and taken to hospital; three other workers were rescued unharmed. Another worker, 64, is in critical condition. No firefighters were injured. The unstable structure complicated operations. Prosecutors have opened an investigation into negligent disaster and injuries.
