    Sunderland drew 1-1 with Everton, as Iliman Ndiaye put the visitors ahead on 15 minutes before Granit Xhaka equalised 43 seconds into the second half with a deflected effort off James Tarkowski, his first Sunderland goal. Manager Regis Le Bris highlighted Xhaka’s importance. Everton’s David Moyes noted missed chances, including Thierno Barry’s miss, and a Grealish effort off the post.
