    Wexford man gets 17 years for stepdaughter abuse

    Seventy-year-old Alec Goucher of Wexford was sentenced to 17 years by the Central Criminal Court after a jury convicted him on 25 counts for sexually abusing stepdaughter Elizabeth Usher between 2000 and 2007. Offences included rape and rape with an implement, beginning when she was around 11. Goucher denied the crimes. The judge rejected non-custodial proposals and backdated the sentence.
