    UK Government Pressures Ofcom Over O2 Price Hike

    Ofcom faces calls to ban mid-contract price rises after O2 announced a £2.50 monthly increase for existing customers. Technology Secretary Liz Kendall asked Ofcom to revisit its rules and set a 7 November response deadline. Ofcom said affected customers can switch penalty-free if rises weren’t agreed upfront. O2 said it notified customers and offers 30 days to leave.
