    Ireland’s Department of Finance Future Forty central scenario projects a 2065 population of 6.7 million. Age-related services would reach 46% of public spending (18% of GNI*). Corporation tax falls from 8% to 4.5% of GNI* by 2040. Deficits begin in 2033; by 2065 budget deficit nears 8% and debt rises to 148% of GNI*; workforce share falls below 50%.
