Worker dies after collapse at Rome's medieval tower

A Romanian construction worker died after being rescued from the partially collapsed Torre dei Conti, a medieval tower near Rome’s Colosseum, authorities said. He was freed after about 11 hours and pronounced dead at a hospital. Another Romanian worker sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries; two others had minor injuries. The tower, under renovation, suffered two collapses; firefighters reported no injuries.
