Defense seeks acquittal in McCann stalking case

At Leicester Crown Court, Julia Wandelt, 24, and co-defendant Karen Spragg, 61, pleaded not guilty to stalking Kate and Gerry McCann. Prosecutors allege Wandelt claimed to be Madeleine and contacted the family, including home visits, between June 2022 and February this year. Defense counsel sought acquittal citing identity doubts.
