    Northern Ireland man jailed for stabbing intervening bystander

    A Northern Ireland man, Karl Robert Thomas Greenwood, 25, received 66 months for stabbing a bystander who intervened during an assault on his girlfriend. Judge Gordon Kerr KC imposed 33 months in custody and 33 on licence. Greenwood admitted wounding with intent, possessing a knife, and assaulting a female. September 27, 2024 incident left victim with a forearm wound.
