    Irish jockey Neil Callan used a post‑race interview after winning the £80,000 London Middle Distance Final at Kempton aboard King’s Code to urge stronger protection for young riders from social-media abuse. Callan spoke following the sudden death of 19-year-old apprentice Tommie Jakes, best friend of his 18-year-old son Jack, who died last week shortly after riding at Nottingham.
